Voluptuous, full lips are the latest ‘must have’ look. And semi-permanent dermal fillers allow patients to improve their pout safely, without having to undergo irreversible surgical procedures.
Lip Fillers
The desire for fuller lips it at its greatest at the moment with an increasing number of people having lip fillers. It even appears to be overtaking Botox as the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment. Our lip filler treatment allows patients to achieve the much sought after fuller lip trend.
Case Study
This client came to me feeling unhappy with the shape of her lips. She felt they were too narrow and all the volume was in the centre. This was making her lose confidence in her smile.
Dermal Filler Treatment
Lip fillers consist of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in our skin. Levels of hyaluronic acid (collagen) deplete with age and so fillers helps replace lost volume.
Topical anaesthetic can be applied to minimise any discomfort and I only use fillers that contain lidocaine, a local anaesthetic. The treatment only takes around 30 minutes and you will see immediate results. You can get some bruising and swelling after the treatment, but this can easily be masked with make-up.
Incremental Treatment
As you can see from the photographs, the treatment for this client was staged. The first treatment was to improve the shape of the lips to gain the patients desired results. The patient was then delighted with the shape and width but wanted an increase in volume. Therefore an additional treatment was completed until the patient was happy with the final result.
How many treatments?
It is completely up to personal preference, and desired aims of the treatment, how many treatments will be required.
After your first lip filler treatment, your lips will instantly appear plumper. One appointment may be enough if you want a more natural, subtle increase. However, some of the swelling will then go down and so sometimes people then request a top up to increase the volume further.
Lips fillers are a semi-permanent treatment and so will need topping up. Lip fillers last on average 6-10 months. However, if you reach a shape and volume you are happy with, you may want to add 1 ml top up at a discussed interval to maintain the look. I only use the highest quality products backed up with extensive clinical studies to ensure all treatment is of the best standard.
