Why get Botox in your 20-30s?

Posted on 21st August 2016

It is becoming increasingly common for women (and men!) to get Botox, and people are beginning to start earlier, rather than later. Read on to find out why…

When to Start Having Botox?

Although Botox can be used for medical reasons, with regards to having Botox as a cosmetic treatment, it is completely up to you if and when you want to have your treatment.

However, if you want to prevent the aging before it becomes more severe, it is better to start earlier, before the wrinkles are ingrained. Many people start to notice fine lines in their 20s-30s, therefore are now choosing to start anti-wrinkle treatments to reduce the effects of the aging process.

There are many factors that affect the aging process including genetics, facial expressions, smoking and sun exposure.

What are the Benefits of Getting Botox in Your 20’s?

Botox works brilliantly for wrinkle prevention. It reduces the repeated, excessive movements of the muscles of facial expression. This then not only reduces the wrinkles but it prevents them being formed in the first place.

Using the semi-permanent anti-wrinkle injections eliminates the need for drastic, irreversible plastic surgery procedures. Ditch the expensive ‘anti-aging’ creams which have no evidence base and don’t produce the results you expect, instead go for the anti-aging treatment that actually works.

What is the Most Common Area?

One of the most popular areas to have Botox is the ‘frown lines’. The reason it is so popular is that people want to get rid of the angry, worried look that comes from frowning. It is often a habit and people are aware of doing it whilst thinking and concentrating.

The ‘Botox Brow Lift’ is also becoming increasingly popular as people desire a fashionable arch to their brow without going ‘under the knife’. It reduces hooding and reduces wrinkles on the forehead and between the eyebrows.

How Often Do I have to Have Botox?

Botox is purely a cosmetic treatment and so how often you would like the treatment is down to you. Botox lasts between 3-6 months and so the frequency you have it topped up can vary between individuals.

What Happens After the Treatment?

Treatment with Botox is a very safe and effective treatment. The procedure is very quick and you will be able to go back to your daily activities immediately after the treatment is finished.

You may notice some mild swelling and bruising in the injection sites. This can easily be masked with make-up. There is minimal pain or discomfort and any potential side-effects would be discussed with you in your consultation.

What if I Stop Having Botox?

If you stop having Botox treatment, eventually you will just return to how things were before you had Botox. You will be in no worse position, if anything, your wrinkles will have improved long-term.
